BBL In Turkey

What Is a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)?

For a shapelier contour or the hourglass figure, many women want buttocks that are rounder, fuller, and perkier. However, they may be unable to achieve it because of their genetics or musculoskeletal system.

One way to get rounder, perkier buttocks is to get BBL in Turkey, also known as a Brazilian butt lift. The results of this surgery are very natural-looking.

BBL or Brazilian butt lift is a fat grafting procedure where the surgeon harvests fat cells mostly from the abdomen (sides and back) of the patient and then injects them into the buttocks region. This increases their overall volume.

The amount of fat removed depends on the Body Mass Index (BMI) of the patient. BBL always takes place in combination with liposuction.

Although BBL surgery has the word “lift” in it, it is not a lifting procedure. It does not involve the removal of excess, sagging skin around the buttocks. Some of the fat injected into the buttocks gets absorbed by the body, which is why the surgeon injects a slightly greater amount of fat than is needed.

The remaining injected fat cells will “take” for years before being absorbed by the body.

Am I a Good Candidate for BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift)?

You are a good candidate for Brazilian butt lift surgery if you:

  • Have enough fat deposits in different areas of the body and want to get rid of them. If you are quite lean and don’t have enough fat, the surgeon may recommend butt implants.
  • Are at your ideal weight. Weight fluctuations (loss or gain) can change the appearance of the buttocks after surgery.
  • Have a disproportionate figure and want to fit better into your clothes.
  • Want to achieve an hourglass figure and have a smoother, rounder butt contour.

What To Think About Before You Have A Brazilian Butt Lift In Turkey?

If you’re thinking of getting a Brazilian butt lift hips, you need to find the right clinic and the surgeon. For this, first and foremost, you should learn a little about the procedure itself and then ask the surgeon how they will perform the surgery.

Next, ask the surgeon about the training, experience and registration. Are they board-certified? If so, which board? You should ask them how many BBL surgeries they have performed and for how many years.

In addition, you should check out the before and after photos of their BBL patients (whose body is similar to yours) to get an idea of the kind of results you can achieve from the surgery. You can supplement this by reading the reviews online.

Last but not least, you should also communicate your expectations and needs to the surgeon and ask if they’re achievable. If not, what other treatments do they recommend so you can achieve your aesthetic goals? All these questions will help you in making an informed decision when trying to get the best Brazilian butt lift.

Medical tourism is a regulated industry in Turkey. Surgeons need to be registered with the Turkish Medical Association and operate in facilities that fall under the purview of the Ministry of Health.

The surge in health tourism has also led to an increased number of patients seeking treatments in Turkey, providing Turkish surgeons with opportunities to gain valuable experience across a diverse patient base.

Keeping these things in mind, Turkey can be a suitable option for Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, especially because of the experienced surgeons and affordability of the cosmetic surgeries.

You can find qualified plastic surgeons in Turkey who are qualified and have experience in performing Brazilian butt lifts.

However, BBL is a major surgery that carries very serious risks, so make sure you have an open dialogue with your surgeon. You should only consider Brazilian butt lift after you’ve been made aware of the risks associated with this surgery.

This holds no matter where you’re getting this surgery because of the very nature of the area being operated upon.

How Best To Prepare For Surgery

To prepare for your surgery, here are some common pre-operative do’s and don’ts:

What Is The Procedure For Brazilian Butt Lift In Turkey?

First, the surgeon will perform a physical exam and may ask for some medical tests. After that, they will mark the areas of the body from where they will remove the excess fat. An anesthesiologist will then administer general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia with sedation. The rest of the Brazilian butt lift procedure is as follows:

Liposuction

The patient is given tumescent anaesthesia from the area where the surgeon will harvest the fat. This swells the area and decreases the risk of damage to the blood vessels.

Incisions are made, the cannula is inserted, and the fat is vacuumed out. Afterwards, the surgeon will purify the fat cells. They are not directly injected since it contains tumescent fluid and blood.

So, the surgeon filters the liquid and puts it into a centrifuge machine so that they can obtain a concentrate of healthy fat cells.

Fat Transfer

For the fat transfer procedure, the surgeon makes incisions into the buttocks.

They will fill the syringes with fat cells (the syringe has a cannula attached to it). Fat is then injected into the subcutaneous tissue, also known as hypodermis. This lies beneath the dermis (the second layer of skin) and is largely made of fat cells, protecting the underlying muscles.

This is the site for the injection for the Brazilian butt lift technique. Once this is done, the surgeon will suture the area using dissolvable stitches.

Alternatives To Brazilian Butt Lift

There are surgical and non-surgical alternatives to BBL. The first is buttock implants. As the name indicates, it makes use of silicone implants which the surgeon places in the butt region.

The other is a non-surgical alternative – dermal fillers. Of course, dermal fillers will not drastically change the contours of the buttocks.

Moreover, it won’t last as long as a traditional butt implant or injecting sucked fat from other parts of the body.

Other Procedures to Have with Brazilian Butt Lift In Turkey

The recovery from a Brazilian butt lift can be difficult, which is why the patient may be recommended against some plastic surgeries.

As you cannot sleep on your back for at least a day and may have to sleep on your stomach, you shouldn’t get breast surgery with BBL.

But you can safely get non-surgical procedures like fillers, Botox and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy with bum lift surgery.

Aftercare Of Brazilian Butt Lift

After a Brazilian butt lift in Turkey, you need to make sure that you’re following the aftercare instructions of the surgeon. These may be as follows:

Sitting & Sleeping Position

For at least a day after BBL surgery, you shouldn’t sit or lie down on your back. This can be longer if the surgeon finds it necessary, so consult them about it.

You may use a BBL pillow (in the shape of a doughnut) to sit more comfortably. As far as sleeping is concerned, you shouldn’t lie on your back 1 day after the surgery. It’s better if you sleep on your sides or stomach.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

In the week following your BBL cosmetic surgery, your surgeon may advise a lymphatic drainage massage. You can keep getting it for a month. It can help with swelling (moving the lymphatic fluid).

However, some surgeons recommend against it because of the risk of trauma and increased swelling. So, ask your surgeon about it after the Brazilian butt lift surgery.

Diet

For three months after the surgery, you need to have a high-calorie diet (consult your surgeon about this) to nourish the injected fat cells. This will also help maintain the volume of the buttocks.

However, you don’t need to make a permanent switch to this kind of diet. It is only temporary.

Light Exercises

For one month after the BBL surgery process, you should avoid vigorous exercise and sexual activities. You can, however, take walks to improve blood circulation.

It can shorten the recovery period. It is recommended that you wait at least one week after BBL surgery in Turkey to start doing that.

Side Effects to Expect After Brazilian Butt Lift

After the Brazilian butt lift, you may experience the following side effects temporarily in the healing process:

Pain

It is normal to experience some BBL surgery pain and bruising. Your muscles will feel sore. Make sure to take your painkillers. This should go away after 1-2 weeks.

There may be quite a bit of swelling following BBL in the first two weeks. However, it will continue to decrease over time. It is a normal part of the recovery.

Bumps form as the inflammatory cells take care of the damaged fat cells, and numbness occurs because of the nerve tissues. Both of them should resolve after a few weeks.

You may feel phantom pains, tingles, itchiness, and warm sensations. This results from the damaged nerves repairing themselves. This should also go away after a few weeks.

* Aftercare instructions can vary between surgeons, so make sure to follow the advice of your surgeon.

What Could Go Wrong After Brazilian Butt Lift In Turkey?

After a Brazilian butt lift surgery, you may end up with an infection in the surgical areas (of liposuction and buttocks). This can result from smoking, sweating, and being in dusty areas.

Other than that, you may form indents in the buttocks because of pressure and subsequent permanent damage to the fat cells. A deeper injection into the gluteal muscle poses a risk of pulmonary/cardiac embolism.

This can be life-threatening, which is why experienced surgeons choose to avoid injecting in that area.

What To Do If You Have Problems After the Brazilian Butt Lift?

If you’re feeling unwell or think that your recovery isn’t proceeding normally after a BBL surgery in Istanbul, you should immediately get in touch with the Aftercare team online. They will offer you a free consultation. You can forward your images to them, which they will share with your surgeon to get an assessment.

What Is The Cost Of Brazilian Butt Lift In Turkey?

According to a survey by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), buttock augmentation (implants and fat transfer) accounted for almost 3.9% of surgeries in Turkey in 2020. Over 12,000 surgeries were performed in Turkey alone. The low BBL surgery cost in Turkey is one reason why this country attracts so many medical tourists.

First, the cost of private healthcare is significantly lower in Turkey than in the UK or Europe, in part due to currency exchange. Second, the cost of living in Turkey is lower compared to the UK, US, or Europe. It’s not due to poor quality. Many medical facilities in Turkey have Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditations, and the Turkish Ministry of Health regulates the medical tourism industry.

Some surgeons here also have registrations and accreditations from the ISAPS to ensure the provision of high-quality services. So, medical tourists can get the best of both worlds in terms of BBL surgery price and quality. In Turkey, Brazilian butt lift cost can vary depending on the size of the surgical area(s) from where the surgeon harvests the fat and whether you’re getting any additional cosmetic surgery.

However, when doing your research, make sure to find out the average BBL surgery cost in Turkey in a particular area. That’s because a high demand for this surgery has driven many unlicensed and unregistered clinics to start very low Brazilian butt lift prices. The “surgeons” do not have enough experience and are unaware of the guidelines to perform the surgery. So, be careful.

At Longevita, we offer BBL surgery, which combines liposuction with fat transfer to the buttocks. However, we do not provide butt implant procedures.

Frequently asked questions about A BBL Surgery

When can I fly home after the Brazilian butt lift surgery?

You can fly back home 1 day after your check-up appointment. Your surgeon may suggest that it is okay for you to sit down 1 day after the surgery. However, make sure to get a consultation for it.

You may want to achieve maximum fullness and volume from the surgery. However, the amount of fat transfer that can take place depends on how much fat you have, your anatomy, and the thickness of the tissue in your buttocks. The surgeon will also consider your aesthetic goals.

The main difference between a traditional butt lift and BBL is that the former removes excess skin while the latter adds volume through fat transfer. If you are concerned about sagging buttocks, you need to have a traditional butt lift.

It can be done above or below the buttocks, depending on your areas of concern. But a traditional butt lift does not change the volume of the buttocks, nor does it get rid of unwanted fat.

Done by a highly experienced surgeon who’s trained and board-certified, a Brazilian butt lift surgery should be safe.

The injection deep into the muscles can damage the blood vessels, which is why fat should be injected into the subcutaneous tissue (above the muscles) of the patient’s bum, which is what the surgeons we work with do.

In addition, there is no rejection of the fat tissue by the body since the surgical procedure uses the patient’s fat. You have to be careful around the buttocks area after the BBL and follow the aftercare instructions of the surgeon.

Usually, there’s no restriction on patients going to the toilet after a Brazilian butt lift. However, only your surgeon can best advise you on all of this. Therefore, make sure to discuss it with them.

In general, it’s considered okay to sleep on your sides after a BBL. Alternatively, you can also consider sleeping on your stomach. The goal is to not put pressure on the surgical areas. However, you should consult your surgeon first.

In BBL, very small incisions are made that require only a few stitches. So, you don’t have to worry about Brazilian butt lift scars being too noticeable.

A Brazilian butt lift can noticeably augment the overall size of the buttocks. It’s important to note, however, that the results you see right after surgery aren’t final. Some of the transferred fat will be absorbed by your body, which makes this procedure “semi-permanent.” Still, it can effectively increase the size of your butt.

A BBL can provide long-lasting results, but its effects may change over time due to weight fluctuations, pregnancy, aging, or lifestyle factors. Individual outcomes vary, so maintaining a stable weight is essential for lasting results.
