Meta universe is considered the future of the internet – a virtual world that will compete with our physical world. In this digital reality, you will exist as a 3D avatar to interact with your surroundings and those who inhabit them.
Since these avatars will be your representation, you’ll get to choose how you look, and you’ll have the opportunity to become the best-imagined version of yourself. But what exactly will that “best-imagined” version look like?
Longevita asked its followers, most of them British women, in a survey on Instagram to choose their favourite eye, brow, nose, lip, face, breast, and body shape, among different options.
From the more than 500 responses, Longevita found out that there may be a shared perception of beauty among people since some body and face shapes are more popular than others. That gave us an idea of what British women will want to look like in the meta universe.
Out of upturned, monolid, almond, and round eyes, almond eyes were the most popular. This assumes that women might also favour it in the meta universe.
Adorning the faces of famous models and celebrities like Bella Hadid and the whole Kardashian-Jenner family, the upswept corners of almond eyes are considered attractive by many.
Right up the eyes are the eyebrows, and between arched, s-shaped, rounded and straight eyebrows, the arched ones emerged as the clear winners. You might also see more of these in the meta universe. Thick, bushy brows with a soft curve draw more attention to the eyes and celebrities like Cara Delevingne and Lily Colins are known for having these.
As far as the central facial feature – the nose – is concerned, a button-tipped one was the most popular among the roman, hooked, and upturned noses. The button noses of Kate Middleton, Scarlett Johansson, and Nina Dobrev are well known.
When it came to the lips, the trendy wide, plump lips ruled, which may also happen in the meta universe. Among round, thin, and full lips. British women liked wide and full lips the most. In the UK, dermal fillers is one of the fastest growing markets. More and more women want lips like Angelina Jolie, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kerry Washington.
Moving onto the face shape, the oval shape was the most popular between round, triangle and square. And it might also be a favourite of British women in the meta universe. It balances out the facial features, making them look more symmetrical. Rihanna, Julia Roberts, and Charlize Theron have this very face shape.
Apart from the different face shapes, certain body shapes were also more popular. In our survey, the vast majority of people preferred round, full breasts, closely followed by side-sets.
When it came to the overall body shape, it was the hourglass figure that women preferred over the apple, pear, and inverted triangle shape. There is a good chance that this body type will be popular among British women in the meta universe as well. Celebs like Beyonce, Sofia Vergara, and Kim Kardashian have this exact body shape.
Longevita surgeon Prof Dr Fuat Yuksel, who has been performing plastic surgery on British women for many years, said, “Beauty standards have changed with time. In this era, women desire an hourglass figure with fuller, rounder breasts and hips.”
“With that, they want to have upturned cat eyes that enhance the curvature of their lids. Because of this, procedures like breast augmentation, liposuction, and fat grafting have become quite popular.” This illustrates why the participants in our survey showed a preference for a certain aesthetic.
A meta universe gives people a chance to look their best. Interestingly though, a shared perception of beauty among British women could influence their aesthetic choices if they lived in a meta universe. And because of that, maybe the gap between the virtual and real world will not so great after all.
